Literally all of the feels. A ton of members of the ‘Glee’ cast recently gathered for a good cause– and they sang a classic that will probably have you ugly sobbing.
“Don’t Stop Believin'” will always be Glee‘s signature song, and even though the series just wrapped filming, that doesn’t mean it’s the last we’ll hear it. Case in point: the Family Equality Council awards on Feb. 28, which saw some of our favorite Gleeks together again. Lea Michele, Darren Criss and others were all on hand to lift us up with that Journey classic, but who sang Finn’s (Cory Monteith) part?
‘Glee’ ‘Don’t Stop Believin’ Performance
We will literally never stop believin’.
At the 11th annual Family Equality Council Awards, attendees (and us, thanks to the internet!) were treated to a special performance by many Glee cast members, and they all sounded just as incredible singing the chill-inducing song as they they did when we first heard it back in 2009. Along with Lea and Darren, Jenna Ushkowitz, Alex Newell, Becca Tobin and Harry Shum all sang they hearts out.
Of course, when we did first hear the song in Glee‘s first-ever episode, Cory had a major part in it. So, who stepped up to fill those major shoes? None other than Chord Overstreet, who definitely did Cory and the song justice.
Good Bye ‘Glee’
As you probably know, the sixth and final season of Glee just wrapped filming, and it’s been emotional for the cast as well as those of us who have been fans of the musical comedy all this time.
Mark Saling shared that, following the series wrap, he took home the plaque of Finn which hung in the choir room following the tragic death of both the character and the actor. Mark tweeted a photo of the plaque with the caption, “My one souvenir from set. Right above my piano where it belongs #gleefamily.”
Of course Lea, who dated Cory offscreen as well as on, also walked away with a Finn keepsake. On the last day of filming, she tweeted, “One last thing. ❤️” along with a photo of her walking away holding Finn’s framed jersey.
Yeah, not sure that we’ll ever stop crying. Don’t stop believin’ Gleeks!
How do you think Chord did singing Cory’s part?
