Melissa Rivers wants Zendaya to know that the ‘Fashion Police’ adore her, and shared this sweet photo of Zendaya sitting the late Joan Rivers lap to remind her how welcome she is on the show.
Zendaya, 18, has always been a welcome guest on Fashion Police, and despite all of the controversy surrounding Giuliana Rancic‘s racist comments about her Oscar dreadlocks, Melissa Rivers, 47, is hoping there is no bad blood. In fact, Joan Rivers‘ daughter posted a super nostalgic photo of Zendaya sitting on Joan’s lap, hoping to mend the broken relationship between the actress and the show.
Melissa Rivers Responds To Giuliana Rancic’s Racist Comments
Although Joan’s daughter is not on the show herself, she is very much a part of the Fashion Police’s team, and it’s no wonder Melissa is speaking out about the drama between Zendaya and Giuliana.
“We @e_FashionPolice have nothing but love for @Zendaya then and now. A repeat guest host,” Melissa captioned a sweet photo of Zendaya cuddling with Joan on the set of the show during a previous appearance. It’s clear that Melissa has nothing but respect for Zendaya, and she wants to make sure everyone knows where she stands.
Zendaya has been a guest host on Fashion Police a number of times, ironically to sub for Giuliana. Since G made those horrible racist comments about Zendaya’s dreadlocked hair on the 2015 Oscars red carpet, it’s unclear whether or not Zendaya will ever return to the show. Zendaya has since ditched the hairstyle.
This is so sad, because Joan definitely would have wanted her to return.
Fans Standing By Zendaya
Even after Zendaya accepted Giuliana’s apology, her fans are still standing behind her and her decision to speak out about how Giuliana’s comments affected her and other people.
Here’s what some of them are still saying on Twitter:
@Zendaya … people really underestimate the constant, harsh criticism we women of African descent receive on a daily basis.
