Yikes. New details behind the racist comments Giuliana Rancic made at the Oscars about Zendaya have been revealed — including that she was warned more than once not to say what she did on-camera.
Giuliana Rancic, 40, is knee-deep in trouble these days thanks to a remark she made about 18-year-old Zendaya‘s dreadlocks on the red carpet. Now, a source who was present at the Fashion Police taping has revealed that the red carpet host defied warnings from Kelly Osbourne and made the nasty, racist comments about Zendaya a grand total of three times.
Giuliana Rancic Ignored Warnings On ‘Fashion Police’
Shocking new details about Giuliana’s racist remarks on Fashion Police have been revealed, and something tells me that this may call for another “heartfelt” apology.
“They did the Zendaya segment three times,” a source told Us Weekly. “Three different takes. On the first two takes, Kelly said ‘Guys, we can’t say this. Zendaya is a friend of the show.'”
And she was right — Zendaya has appeared on the show a number of times, and even has one of the infamous photos of herself sitting on the belated Joan Rivers‘ lap.
“Giuliana said the words ‘patchouli oil’ and ‘weed’ three times,” the source shared, stating it happened in front of a live audience. “They all heard the three takes.”
Wow. This is shocking to hear, because it appears that not only did Kelly tell Giuliana not to say what she did, but the Fashion Police producers still allowed it to air and cause this massive controversy. Not cool.
Zendaya Has Already Forgiven Giuliana
Despite this new report, Zendaya did forgive Giuliana after she apologized on the Feb. 23 episode of Fashion Police.
“It is important in this journey to remember that just because someone has inflicted hurt upon us, it does not give us the right to do the same,” Zendaya wrote in a lengthy Twitter post. “Giuliana, I appreciate your apology and I’m glad it was a learning experience for you and for the network.”
