Drop everything: a new teaser for the upcoming ‘Frozen’ short film has just been released! ‘Frozen Fever’ will be shown in movie theaters ahead of ‘Cinderella’ starting Mar. 13 and, in this first look, we get a peek at what the gang will be up to!
So we’re agreed: we are literally never going to Let it Go. A seven-minute short film called Frozen Fever, the followup to the mega successful 2013 Disney film Frozen, is set to debut on Mar. 13. Now, we have our first look at what Elsa (Idina Menzel), Anna (Kristen Bell) and everyone else in Arendelle might be up to when we see them back on the big screen again!
‘Frozen Fever’ Trailer — First Video Of ‘Frozen’ Short Film
Well now they know!
…a little more about Frozen Fever, that is. On Feb. 25, Good Morning America debuted a first look at the upcoming short film and we basically can’t breathe because we’re so excited.
In the sneak peek, we see that it’s Anna’s birthday, and Elsa is working to make it perfect. Of course, Olaf (Josh Gad) is caught eating a bite of her cake before she can get there. We don’t want to give too much away, so just take a look above!
The short, which will be shown in conjunction with Disney’s live-action Cinderella, will follow Elsa and Kristoff (Jonathan Groff) in their quest to throw Anna an amazing party. However, Elsa’s frosty powers could put a damper on their efforts.
As well as featuring just about the entire original cast, the short film will also contain a brand new song from the original movie’s songwriting duo Kristen and Bobby Lopez. In other words, prepare yourself for a new song that you literally won’t be able to escape for the next 18 months.
‘Frozen’ Continues To Dominate
It’s not surprising that Disney has chosen to capitalize on the success of Frozen. The film, which originally opened in 2013, went on to be the highest grossing animated film of all time. In fact, the film has taken in an insane $1.3 billion worldwide, making it the fifth-highest grossing film ever.
So we know there’s a short sequel on the way, but how about a full length follow up? That might seem like an obvious outcome to most of us, including the film’s star, Idina. However, when Idina was asked about the prospects of a sequel, she may have gotten ahead of herself!
Having said in an interview that a sequel to the film (as well as a stage musical) was “in the works,” Idina then backtracked. “You know, I have no idea,” she said. “I just assumed that because it’s so successful that’s what they’re up to.”
It’s fine, Idina. We all know a sequel is pretty much inevitable and no one is mad about it!
What do you think of the first look at Frozen Fever? Are you excited for the short to drop?
