Derek Hough is a force to be reckoned with and the other professional dancers on ‘Dancing With the Stars’ know it, which is why they’re going to work even harder to beat him this season, according to a HollywoodLife.com insider.
Derek Hough‘s surprise return to Dancing With the Stars delighted fans, but worried the other professional dancers on the series who were hoping to finally win the mirror ball trophy this season. Instead, they’ll now have to work that much harder to beat the five time champion.
Derek Hough’s Return To ‘DWTS’: Dancers More Motivated To Beat Him This Season
“Everyone likes Derek and knows that he is important to the show, but now that he is back, everyone wants to beat him — everyone is more competitive because he is going to get all the votes. Nobody is pissed that he’s back, they just really want to beat him. So, they are all picking up their game to make that happen,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.
We can certainly understand why the other dancers would want to step their game up. Since joining the long-running series during season 5, Derek, 29, has taken home five mirror ball trophies. He’s never placed lower than sixth place, and fifty percent of the time, he places in third place or higher.
Derek Hough: Why He Originally Backed Out Of ‘DWTS’
As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, Derek announced his return to the series on the Feb. 24 episode of Good Morning America.
In January, Derek, who will be competing with Nastia Liukin said he would have to sit out during the 20th season due to his role in the Radio City Spring Spectacular show. But apparently, he moved mountains so that he could participate in both shows!
We’re so glad he’s back — this is going to be one suspenseful season. Don’t you think?!
