From Vampires to Chamberlain! Stephen Moyer of ‘True Blood’ fame has just been confirmed for the FX pilot ‘Bastard Executioner.’ The period drama, from ‘Sons of Anarchy’ director Kurt Sutter, tells the story of a warrior knight. Check out who else has joined the cast!

Don’t pass this one up, FX! The upcoming pilot for Bastard Executioner has assembled its entire cast, and it is stuffed to the brim with A-listers. Along with Stephen Moyer, fresh off his run on True Blood, the series will also star Katey Segal! We’ve got all the details on the exciting new series!

‘Bastard Executioner’: Stephen Moyer Joins Cast

It didn’t take long for Stephen to find a major post-True Blood gig.

Ahead of the filming for the pilot, Bastard Executioner, Stephen has been cast as the street smart and noble savvy Milus Corbett. He was one of Ventris’ marshals in the army and now, he serves as his Chamberlain, Chancellor and Justiciar, friend and drinking mate, according to Deadline.

Also joining the drama, Katey, who will play Annora of the Alders: Prescient, mystical and beautiful. She offers predictions, cures and potions.

A new coming actor, Lee Jones, has landed the lead role of the tall, dark and imposing Wilkin Brattle. The emotionally deep, spiritually tortured former knight in the charge of King Edward I now lives a simple agrarian life.

Flora Spencer-Longhurst will play Baroness Lowry ‘Love’ Aberffraw Ventris: As cunning as she is kind and beautiful. From a wealthy Welsh family, she married Ventris at 17 to protect her family’s land. Her noble duties always in conflict with her Welsh pride. Spencer-Longhurst is repped by United Agents.

A Mid Century Drama

The Bastard Executioner, which is, thankfully, very likely to get a series order, will tell the story of a warrior knight (Lee) in King Edward I’s charge who is broken by the ravages of war and vows to lay down his sword. But when that violence finds him again he is forced to pick up the bloodiest sword of all.

So intense! Along with helming the pilot (and series, hopefully!), Kurt will also play a smaller role as The Dark Mute, the rarely speaking mate and guardian of Annora.

What do you think of the cast? Are you excited for Bastard Executioner?
