Once again, Will Smith is bringing West Philadelphia to L.A.! The actor headed on ‘Ellen’ on Feb. 24 to promote his new film, ‘Focus,’ and totally broke out in the theme song for ‘Fresh Prince of Bel Air.’ Yes, he still knows all the words.
Will Smith was and always will be the Fresh Prince of Bel Air! It’s been 19 years since the show went off the air, but Will still knows every single line (and let’s be honest, so do I) of the theme song. He reminded everyone of that when he visited Ellen DeGeneres this week, and had the audience join him in the rapping!
Just last week, Will rapped “Gettin’ Jiggy With It” on David Letterman‘s show, but this time, he’s taking it back to Fresh Prince.
While he rapped on Ellen, he also talked about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith and how he felt about her being in Magic Mike XXL, with a bunch of hotties!
“You know it was really interesting you know, because there were a lot of guys, there were a lot of famous people,” Will said. “So everywhere I go, there’s someone who’s been in their underwear with my wife. It’s just awkward. It’s just awkward Ellen, but you know she spoke very highly of you. I guess that didn’t come right either.”
Ellen also asked about how it felt being considered “sexy” in his new role — she even said he was!
“Girl stop playing with me. You know, but there was like one minute when we did Bad Boys, I go to the theatres when my movies come out and I sit in the back and I try to see how people are reacting. And there was a scene in Bad Boys when I was running with my shirt open. It was the first time in my life, ever that I heard a woman go, ‘mmmhm,'” he told her. “I was like, I didn’t know what to do. I was like, ‘What was that, miss?’ It really is it’s a strange thing to be considered. When I think sexy I look at Denzel and I was like, now that’s a sexy man. You know. So I never thought of myself in that way. So it’s fun. It’s fun.”
Luckily, Ellen said she’d chose him over Denzel. Me too, Ellen. Anyways, watch the video of Will rapping below!
