After the bombshell at the end of last week’s episode of ‘The Fosters,’ we were left wondering what was next for Robert Quinn’s relationship with Callie. Luckily, Kerr Smith gave us the scoop — and teased his idea for a perfect spinoff.
There’s about to be even more “friction” between the Fosters and the Quinns — specifically Robert, Kerr Smith told HollywoodLife.com exclusively. After Callie (Maia Mitchell) announced that she’d be making the move into his home, it’s basically “Robert v. the moms,” but he does have one person on his side!
‘The Fosters’: Robert & Callie’s Relationship Growing
Someone’s excited for the return of Rosie O’Donnell! We get reintroduced to Rita Hendricks, a caregiver for foster kids, and of course she’s the one that Stef (Teri Polo) and Lena Adams Foster (Sherri Saum) call for help after Robert decides to try for custody.
“Rosie’s character and Robert have this cool thing thats gonna develop a little bit,” Kerr told HollywoodLife.com in an exclusive interview. “In next week’s episode, you find out that we’ve been working together a little bit, and we have a bit of a surprise for Callie. He he.”
A surprise? What could it be? Well, either way, it’s definitely something that we’re excited for, and could lead to something even more.
Will There Be A ‘Fosters’ Spin Off?
“If Callie went to Robert’s and lived with the Quinns, it would be actually a pretty cool spinoff since the Quinns have a lot of pretty cool stuff going on behind the scenes that we don’t know about yet,” Kerr said. “It’s a show of its own to be honest with you!”
We wouldn’t mind seeing a show all about the Quinns — we love the Fosters, so we know we’d be obsessed with the Quinns. But will Callie ever actually move in with her birth dad for good, and will the moms ever understand?
“He feels a lot of guilt because he wasn’t around of rate first 16 years of her life and he’s trying to make up for it,” he said. “He knows she has a great situation with the fosters but he wants to be a part of her life. [Expect] further development of Callie and Robert getting to know each other. He just wants to be there for her. He can make sure that she’s safe.”
So, what do you think HollywoodLifers? Do you want Callie to stay living with Robert? Should she return home to her moms? Let us know!
