Tim McGraw brought Hollywood to tears with his emotional performance of “I’m Not Gonna Miss You” from the film Glen Campbell: I’ll Be Me. The touching ballad was nominated for Best Original Song at the 87th Academy Awards on February 22.
Tim McGraw , 47, provided one of the most emotional moments of the night when he performed a heartbreaking version of Glen Campbell’s Oscar nominated song, “I’m Not Gonna Miss You”. The moving song is featured in the documentary Glen Campbell, I’ll Be Me which follows the country legend’s farewell tour while he battles the deteriorating effects of Alzheimer’s Disease.
Tim McGraw Oscar Performance: Glen Campbell’s ‘I’m Not Gonna Miss You’
There wasn’t a dry eye in the house by the time Tim finished singing the sweet song which won a Grammy Award earlier this month. The emotional song was written by Glen, 78, as a tribute to the love he has for his wife and family.
With Glen unable to perform due to the terrible impact of the disease, his family, who was on hand during the Oscar performance, asked Tim to step in and sing. Glen is currently in a Nashville facility for treatment and care.
“He’s such a great singer and Glen always loved him,” Glen’s wife, Kim Campbell, said of Tim. “It’s going to be an emotional night to hear it performed.”
Fans Concerned Over Tim’s Health After ‘GMA’ Performance
We are glad Tim is doing so well. Only 5 months ago fans became alarmed by his incredibly slim physique when he performed his song, ‘Keep On Truckin,’ Oct. 6 on ‘GMA’.
While he sounded great, a number of fans took to social media to comment on his dramatic weight loss, saying he looked too “skinny.”
Tim’s vascular look is due to his passion for working out. He was even on the August 2014 cover of Men’s Health where he admitted he can overdo it.
“I’ll be the first to admit I take it to extremes,” the country singer said. “I’m not one of those people who can sorta half-ass something.”
HollywoodLifers, were you touched by Tim’s tribute to Glen?
