Some of the most shocking moments in television history have happened at the Oscars. Take a look at our biggest Oscar fails of all time!
There are Oscar moments you never forget, and they have nothing to do with acceptance speeches. From Jennifer Lawrence falling (twice) to John Travolta’s unforgettable Adele Dazeem moment, HollywoodLife.com has rounded up the most shocking Oscar fails ever!
Shocking Oscar Moments: Jennifer Lawrence & More
It was the year 2012. Both Hunger Games and Silver Linings Playbook had been released, and Jennifer Lawrence was America’s sweetheart. She was bold, sassy and downright hilarious. This was when we fell in love with her.
She proved that she was still human when she fell as she left her seat to accept her Academy Award for Best Actress. Honestly, we couldn’t believe it happened. However, couple her Oscar jitters and her Dior dress, and JLaw’s face nearly met the stairs in this incredibly funny Oscar moment.
Of course, Jennifer shook it off like it was no big deal. Turns out the actress is clumsy to the core. The very next year as she stepped onto the red carpet, she fell again. Nope, we’re not kidding. It was priceless.
There’s no word yet on whether JLaw will be hitting up the 2015 Oscars, but we’re hoping so. Could Jennifer treat us to a falling three-peat? Time will tell!
John Travolta’s Adele Dazeem & James Franco In Drag
The last thing anyone ever expected from John Travolta was for him to butcher Idina Menzel’s name as badly as he did. He introduced the Frozen star before her “Let It Go” performance as “Adele Dazeem.”
Yeah, we’re still not sure how he got “Adele Dazeem” from Idina Menzel. We may never find out.
Anne Hathaway and James Franco hosted the 2011 Oscars, and it wasn’t pretty. Despite their efforts, they’re just not born comedians at heart. So when they tried to switch places for a small bit where Anne was dressed in a tuxedo while James was in drag, it fell flat. However, James in a hot pink dress and platinum blonde wig will forever be etched in our memory and not in a good way.
