I mean, how could they not do it? During the Oscars on Feb. 22, John Travolta and Idina Menzel proved that they have both truly ‘let it go’ when it comes to John’s infamous gaff!
Oh my gosh. This is just the best thing to have ever happened. Following his instantly-viral mangling of her name the previous year, John Travolta and Idina Menzel put their past behind them and took part in what was arguably the greatest moment of the 2015 Academy Awards (and of all of our lives). We are literally never letting this go — they headed on stage together!
John Travolta & Idina Menzel Present At Oscars After Adele Dazeem
Idina came out at the Oscars to present the winner for Best Original Song, but first, she enlisted the help of the one and only John Travolta! Or, as Idina referred to him, “Glom Gazingo.” Not only did they hug and kiss, but he even called her “wickedly talented,” and they also both joked that it would follow them around for the rest of their lives. Well, truth.
Things also got a tad bit uncomfortable, as John grabbed Idina’s chin and kinda didn’t let it go (heh). However, Idina looked so gorgeous, we barely noticed. The wickedly talented lady stunned in a gown by Romona Keveza with jewels by Simon G.
Now that is how you get them to remember your name!
John & Idina Let It Go
For those who live under a rock and didn’t see it, the bit was inspired by the events of the 2014 Academy Awards.
To refresh, Idina had been on hand that evening to sing the smash hit song “Let It Go” from the movie Frozen (maybe you’ve heard of it). John’s task was pretty simple compared to Idina’s: introduce the Tony winning actress prior to her singing the big song.
However, for Travolta, that was easier said than done. The intro started okay but then took a very noticeable wrong turn. “Please welcome the wickedly talented, one and only Adele Dazeem,” John said.
Obviously, that wasn’t even close. Of course, the moment pretty much exploded the Internet and within hours there were countless Adele Dazeem parody accounts on Twitter and even a “Travolta-fy your name” generator.
So glad to see the two don’t have any real bad blood between them!
What did you think of John and Idina’s big moment?
