Drama in the hallways! Following the recent ‘Saved by the Bell’ reunion (also known as the best thing to happen, like ever), fans were overjoyed, natch, but couldn’t help but notice a certain someone was missing.
Jimmy Fallon made many dreams come true when he initiated a Saved by the Bell reunion on The Tonight Show on Feb. 4. The entire gang was there– Mario Lopez, Elizabeth Berkley, Tiffani Thiessen and Mark-Paul Vosselaar all showed up. However, one face was nowhere to be seen: Dustin Diamond, who of course played Screech, but was his absence a diss? We’ve got the scoop!
‘Saved By The Bell’: Dustin Diamond Dissed
As we previously reported, Dustin was very obviously missing from the Tonight Show/Saved by the Bell crossover.
Although Dustin’s lawyer previously said that Dustin couldn’t make the appearance due to prior engagements, he has now spoken out and revealed the real reason he wasn’t anywhere to be found during the reunion: he wasn’t invited!
“It would have been fun, but I don’t see it as a personal insult,” Dustin told a local Fox affiliate as to his feelings on not being invited.
The reason for Dustin’s lack of an invitation is very likely due to his recent legal troubles. This past Christmas eve, the actor was charged with a felony and misdemeanor after finding himself in the midst of a bar fight in Wisconsin.
Uh oh, Screech. That doesn’t sound too pretty.
Also missing from the Saved by the Bell reunion was Lark Voorhies who, as we know, played Lisa Turtle on the series. Was she also snubbed?
Not so, according to her rep. “Lark would have loved to be part of the Jimmy Fallon skit (as she is a big fan of the show), however due to an intense work schedule she was not available,” she told E! news following the reunion.
Whatever you say!
Were you sad not to see Dustin on the reunion?
