‘Celebrity Apprentice’ — Winner of Season 7 Revealed
Season 7 of Celebrity Apprentice has drawn to a close. The 16 contestants were narrowed down to Leeza and Geraldo for one final challenge of creating a commercial for Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida.
Leeza’s commercial idea was to have a super organized and structured dad be trying to plan out his day at Universal with his family, but in the end finding out that letting moments just happen is far more important. Leeza’s commercial seemed to run smoothly thanks largely in part to Kevin Jonas who took the lead of directing and working with the crew — definitely a huge asset to her team.
Geraldo on the other hand took a very different approach by putting himself in the commercial as an investigative reported. He and several kids were searching for a magical world — he butted heads with both Lorenzo Lamas and Ian Ziering, but Vivica A. Fox seemed to keep them all on track.
After wrapping up their commercials it was time for the finalists to come back to New York to work on fundraising. Geraldo usually excels in this area with Bill O’Reilly and Shepard Smith both giving hefty checks. However, Leeza also did a great job and was seen collecting several pledges worth well over $100,000.
Following the brief fundraising event, Geraldo presented his commercial and while everyone was entertained and loved the “discovering your inner hero” slogan he was criticized for centering the commercial around him.
Leeza seemed to impress everyone — including Geraldo’s team — with her commercial with the slogan “Universal Studios, where fun is your only agenda.” Following her presentation, Leeza gave a brief and emotional speech about her charity before welcoming Olivia Newton-John to the stage who sang, “Magic.”
The Finalist Head To The Board Room One Last Time
Finally, it was time for both teams to meet with Donald to go over their commercials and to find out who is the ultimate winner. They started by announcing that in a surprise twist Leeza actually raised more money during this challenge, with $324,000 to Geraldo’s $146,000. Overall though, Geraldo raised $725,000 for his charity while Leeza ended with just shy of half a million.
The two finalists arrived on stage and Donald looked at Leeza and revealed that he was surprised that she had made it that afar to which Leeza said “Never understand a woman with passion and who knows what she wants.” Geraldo on the other hand said that his success in the show is because of his ability to raise funds.
After talking with the finalists and taking a closer look at the two charities, Melissa Rivers came out revealed that both she and her son Cooper are doing well before playing a special tribute to the late Joan Rivers — who won season 2 and was back this season to mentor the contestants.
Then it was time for Donald to talk to the contestants and to ask who they thing should win — it was pretty split between the two so it really did come down to Donald to make the decision after announcing that Leeza won the all important final task. In the end Geraldo was fired making Leeza the second female winner ever!
