Well, this feels appropriate for Friday the 13th. The first official trailer for the haunting new film ‘Crimson Peak’ has just been released and, frankly, don’t watch it if you’re not prepared for a serious spook.
Crimson Peak won’t hit theaters until October, but after watching this first peak at the new Guillermo del Torro screamer, we may not sleep until then anyway. In the trailer, we see a young author named Edith (Mia Wasikowska) literally fend off what appear to be ghosts– and trust us, it’s even scarier than it sounds. Watch it now!
‘Crimson Peak’ Trailer
“Ghosts are real,” Edith says at the start of the new trailer for Crimson Peak.
“This much I know.”
Following a horrendous tragedy in her own family, Edith retreats to a house which has clearly withstood some…trauma. “Has anyone died in this house?” she asks, panicked. “Specific deaths? Violent deaths?”
Charlie Hunnam plays a doctor trying to woo Edith and “take her away,” but are his intentions pure?
“There’s nowhere else to go, this is your home now,” a bodiless voice tells Edith, as we see a burnt, somewhat-human arm wrap itself around her while she sleeps.
A House That Bleeds
Crimson Peak is a haunting gothic horror story directed by the master of dark fairy tales, Guillermo del Toro, written by del Guillermo and Matthew Robbins, according to Universal Pictures.
In the aftermath of a family tragedy, an aspiring author is torn between love for her childhood friend and the temptation of a mysterious outsider. Trying to escape the ghosts of her past, she is swept away to a house that breathes, bleeds… and remembers.
