‘Sports Illustrated’ Swimsuit Party 2015 & Celebration: Chrissy Teigen, Emily Ratajkowski & More
Hannah’s cover might have been a little risque, but she’s not the only one getting tons of attention for this issue. The beautiful curvy model, Ashley Graham, joined Robyn Lawley as the first “plus-sized” models featured in the issue. While Robyn is the only official Sports Illustrated rookie and Ashley’s photo is for an advertisement, they both have made history.
Ashley flaunted her curves in a sexy black corset dress and shared with Hollywoodlife.com exclusively that she’s not a fan of the plus sized label:
“Honestly, I’m not a huge fan of the label, i’m not a fan of labels in general. I believe that if you need to tell people about what size my hips are, then we both have an issue. So I’m a model, I’m a designer and I’m a body activist.”
Chrissy Teigen also spoke out and she thinks it is awesome that there’s been a change. “Sports illustrated has always recognized people of all shapes and sizes. For instance, I have zero curves, so i’m the complete opposite of the spectrum. But they’ve always appreciated a curvy woman and voluptuousness and that’s what I always loved about them. Listen, the first time I ever met with them, I never even had to get into a swimsuit…Which to me meant that it wasn’t all about body. It’s about personality and charisma and that’s why I love them.”
Gigi Hadid, Chanel Iman & More ‘Sports Illustrated’ Models On The Red Carpet:
Chrissy also mentioned that in past years she was nervous about her promo tours for Sports Illustrated — but now, she’s a pro. “I’m usually pretty anxious but this year I’m just kind of sliding through. Like I put pants on, I’m old school now.”
She may have worn pants, but they looked amazing! She looked so gorgeous in high waisted sequin black pants and a matching bralette top. Emily Ratajkowski wore pants as well, opting for a sexy red jumpsuit.
There were so many fabulous outfits and so many gorgeous faces in NYC for the evening! Be sure to check out our gallery and comment below to tell us who was your favorite on the red carpet!
