Want to know how the ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ movie will end? Well now you can! The last word of the film has just been released, and it might surprise you!
Nothing like a little controversy to accompany a little heat. There has been some dispute over the Fifty Shades of Grey movie’s (sure to be infamous) ending between director Sam Taylor-Johnson and the author of the book on which the film is based, EL James. Actually, the feud came down to the movie’s very last word and you won’t believe the reasoning behind it.
‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ Ending Revealed
With the release of Fifty Shades mere days away, everyone seems to be talking about the steamy film.
However, a new announcement has got the film generating controversy before it even hits theaters.
Due to the demands of author EL, the film will end with Anastasia (Dakota Johnson) saying the word “stop” to Christian (Jamie Dornan), according to The Hollywood Reporter. However, if director Sam had gotten her way, the movie would’ve ended with the word “red,” the couple’s safe word.
So, what’s the difference between the two-monosyllable words? Well, perhaps a few hundreds of millions of dollars.
Instead of ending on “red,” signifying that she had reached her pain threshold, “stop” more definitively reflects her stopping their relationship– however temporarily– in its tracks (in other words: sequels).
‘Fifty Shades’: Will There Be A Sequel?
Though the last word drama might surprise some fans, if you’ve been following the Fifty Shades press at all, the news of a probable sequel is nothing you didn’t already know.
In an interview on The Today Show, Jamie and Dakota were asked as to whether they’d be game for sequel films.
“A lot of people want to know, are there going to be two more films? You’re up for it if there are two more films?” Savannah Guthrie asked the two. “That’s definitely the idea, yeah,” Jamie said, which Dakota seemed to echo with nodding and a smile.
What do you guys think, would you want to see Fifty Shades sequels?
