Sam Smith made his Grammy Awards debut with a stellar performance of ‘Stay With Me’ on Feb. 8. Joined by Mary J. Blige, Sam lit up the stage and proved why he was nominated for six awards.
Sam Smith, 22, is a singer that will likely be around for years to come. He sang his smash hit “Stay With Me” during the 57th annual Grammy Awards on Feb. 8 and it instantly became one of our favorite performances of the night!
Sam Smith’s Grammy Performance — He Sings ‘Stay With Me’ With Mary J. Blige
Sam was introduced by none other than Taylor Swift (who we absolutely adore!) before he appeared on stage with Mary J. Blige. While making the announcement, the “Blank Space” singer said she’s “more than a little obsessed” with Sam Smith. (So are we.)
Having Mary J. Blige sing alongside Sam was a total surprise, but a pleasant one at that. While the song is already amazing with just Sam’s vocals, adding Mary to the mix gave the song an extra jolt of energy. We’re huge fans of this collaboration!
The performance was pretty amazing — it also included both a choir and orchestra. Forget Hozier. Sam Smith took us to church!
His vocals are on fleek, which might be why so many celebrities have flocked to his concerts.
Kristen Stewart & Taylor Lautner At Sam Smith’s Concert: ‘Twilight’ Stars Reunite
As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, a number of celebrities, including Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, and well as Kim and Khloe Kardashian have attended his concerts earlier this year.
One night after Khloe and Kim attended the “Stay With Me” singer’s concert in Inglewood on Jan. 29, and then mingled with him backstage, Kristen and Taylor cozied up to the Grammy-nominated artist, following his show on Jan. 30.
We think it’s safe to say Sam Smith has some very cool friends!
