Katy Perry is a musical goddess! The pop-star delivered yet another amazing performance at the 2015 Grammy Awards — she sang ‘By The Grace Of God,’ a song written about her break up with Russell Brand, and we had chills the entire time!
Katy Perry, 30, gave an emotional performance at The Grammy Awards on Feb. 8. The slow tempo vibe was a complete 180 from her colorful and up-beat Super Bowl show — such a different performance but just as amazing!
Katy Perry Grammy Performance
After a very touching PSA from President Obama and a domestic violence victim, Katy performed a touching song off her latest album Prism called “By the Grace of God.”
She looked angelic in an all white gown with a matching cape. She really left her heart on that stage while singing the track she wrote after her divorce from Russell Brand.
In 2013, Katy opened up about the emotional tune admitting it was about a time when she contemplated suicide. “That song is evident of how tough it really was at a certain point. I asked myself, ‘Do I want to endure? Should I continue living?” she told Billboard.
On the Grammys red carpet, Katy told Ryan Seacrest that she chose that song to perform to “close out” her album Prism.
Katy Perry Disses Taylor Swift Halftime Performance
Katy’s amazing Grammys performance took place exactly a week after she dissed Taylor Swift during her half time show at the Super Bowl on Feb.1. During her performance, Katy totally dissed Tay — twice!
She seemed to deliberately dress her backup dancers in high-waisted polka dot bikinis. Taylor Swift’s go-to swim wear is always her polka dot high-waisted bikini!
Also, backup dancers were reportedly the cause of Katy and Taylor’s feud in the first place! The dancers that Katy and Taylor were fighting over were actually the ones dressed in the shark costumes — another subtle jab!
Instead of dishing another diss, Katy chose to use her performance at the Grammys to send out a message of survival and we loved every second of it — way to go, Katy!
