Hozier & Annie Lenox’s Grammy Performance: “Take Me To Church”
When Grammy Award show producers asked the 60-year-old Scottish singer if she would perform with the 24-year-old Irishman, she wasn’t sure their musical stylings would mesh.
“I wasn’t quite seeing it, initially,” the four-time Grammy winner told USA Today. “I said, when we get into a room together, we’re going to know if it works.”
Then when Annie and Hozier met on Feb. 5 to rehearse their numbers the young singer had some jitters meeting the music icon.
“I think he was a little nervous, to be honest with you,” she said. “I’m always a little bemused by that, because I’m really not anybody to be afraid of.”
In the end Annie really took to Hozier saying he’s, “such a grounded guy — he’s quite wise for his years.”
Despite Hozier being the star of the moment, Annie’s performance stole the show!
