Music fans (AKA everyone), it’s the event we’ve all been waiting for: The Grammys! However, before the performances, wins and major disses can go down on stage, all the biggest stars in music need to strut their stuff on the red carpet!
Sure, The Grammys are about the music, but we all know fashion plays a major part in the evening. Music’s biggest event took place on Feb. 8, and the stars came ready to impress– well, some of them, anyway. Pretty much known as the wildest red carpet of all the major awards shows, we knew the divas (and divos) weren’t going to hold anything back when it came to their red carpet getup. Check out a full recap!
The Grammys Red Carpet
The carpet kicked off with a dapper dude: Sam Smith looking adorable in a charcoal gray suit, adorned with a white bow tie–a unique take on a classic look!
Next up, another crop of good looking guys: Neil Patrick Harris and his husband David Burtka, both looking handsome as heck in all black. See ya at the Oscars, Neil!
The one and only Madonna was an early carpet arrival as well, wearing what could be described as matador-esque. Do you plan to tame some bulls on the carpet, Madge?
Next up, Kat Graham opted for a unique dress, featuring black mesh across the chest which transitioned into a sparkling white design.
Finally, one of music’s it couples took to the carpet: Big Sean and Ariana Grande totally stole the show walking arm and arm. Ariana wore a stunning white, one shoulder number, adorned with silver sequins while Sean let his lady take the spotlight in a simplistic, all black ensemble.
Onto another more, uh, interesting getup: Charli XCX wore a white tuxedo, topped off with a bubble gum pink bowtie and a light pink feather boa. See ya on the worst-dressed list, Charli.
And for another A-list couple, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen looked completely gorgeous, per usual. John wore a gray suit with black detail over a white button down while Chrissy color coordinated in a stunning white gown.
Gwen Stefani went for a unique carpet look, rocking a jumpsuit, with some intricate wiring around the chest. Looking better than ever Gwen!
Next, in keeping with his red carpet statements, Pharrell Williams chose to do a “shin show,” wearing a gray suit, opting for shorts instead of pants. Keep doing’ you, Pharrell.
Meghan Trainor broke the mold from her usual pastels and wore a goth-inspired black lace number. But, more importantly, her red carpet date: Her dad! Adorable beyond words.
Next, fresh from the super bowl and rocking amazing purple hair, Katy Perry went for a subtle look (for her, anyway) in a cream, knee-length frock with intricate beading and a belt. That hair though! That hair.
From one stunner to another, Nicki Minaj also went for a toned down look, wearing a black gown complete with a fringed bottom. Of course it’s Nicki so there was a V so deep, it nearly reached her naval. If ya got it, flaunt it!
Onto a different kind of couple, Lady GaGa and Tony Bennett walked the red carpet and appeared to be all set to perform. Lady G stunned in a silver number and Tony beamed proudly in a classic tux alongside her.
Finally, Taylor Swift made her fashionably late appearance, wearing a sea foam gown, complete with matching turquoise earrings. Nothing more to say– flawless as always, T Swift.
Power couple Kim Kardashian and Kanye West certainly dressed the part. Kim wore a robe-like sequin gown, which glistened in gold, while Kanye went with an all black suit, sans undershirt. Always trendy, those two.
Iggy Azalea also brought it in blue, but her top-of-head french braid totally stole the show.
Finally–finally!– the real queen has arrived: ladies and gentleman, Beyonce hit the carpet looking her trademark unbelievable. Wearing a black beaded gown with a deep v, the carpet literally looked like it heated up at least ten degrees with the arrival of her majesty. Bow down!
