Jimmy Fallon and ‘The Tonight Show’ are spending the week in Los Angeles, and to honor the occasion, the funny man paid homage to someone else who once fled to sunny California. Check it out!
For the first time since Jimmy Fallon assumed the throne from Jay Leno, The Tonight Show is back in Los Angeles. In this hilarious tribute, Jimmy depicts his temporary transition to “The Fresh Host of Tonight,” throwing it back to that other Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. In a video that can only be described as “perfect,” Jimmy– and a few special guests– tell us “how I brought The Tonight Show back out to L.A.”
Jimmy Fallon Is ‘The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air’ On ‘The Tonight Show’
“In Rockefeller Center, NYC, in the legendary studio they call 6B,” Jimmy says–er, raps, in this spot on Fresh Prince of Bel-Air recreation.
“Higgins packed up my bags ’cause we’re leaving today, he said ‘it’s time to take The Tonight Show to sunny L.A.'” Here, of course, we cut to Jimmy’s sidekick Steve Higgins giving his best punishment-doling mother impression. (Also, special shoutout for the graffiti wall which boasts an “Adele Dazeem” tag. Bravo).
Then, in a serious fan tribute, Alfonso Ribeiro, who of course played Carlton on The Fresh Prince, appears– sweater vest and all!– to dance jovially and out of date alongside The Roots.
Smell Ya Later
The perfection did not stop there.
When Jimmy “whistles for a cab,” it pulls up and the driver is none other than DJ Jazzy Jeff, also known as Fresh Prince‘s Jeffrey Towns.
As he pulls up to palm tree-adorned Universal Studios, Jimmy “looked at the city, said today is the day, we bring The Tonight Show from New York to L.A.” He walks up to the massive doors, knocks, then rubs his hands together, in a most perfect Will Smith impression.
Basically, you need to watch the entire thing roughly ten times, and then probably another five, because it’s that good.
Yo homes, smell ya later!
What do you think of the parody video?
