Felicity Jones Cast In ‘Star Wars’ Stand-Alone Film — She Lands Female Lead
Unfortunately, very little is known about the new Star Wars movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter, who first reported the news.
This movie, one of two stand-alone films in the franchise, is separate from the upcoming sequel, Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Disney reportedly plans to make at least two stand-alone films, which Entertainment Weekly first reported in 2013, that will focus on Han Solo and Boba Fett.
Male leads for the stand-alone films have not been chosen yet, but Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad) and Edgar Ramirez (Zero Dark Thirty) are said to be top contenders, according to Daily Mail.
And unfortunately, no details have been released for Felicity’s role. The plot’s also a mystery!
What we do know, however, is that this Star Wars movie will be released on Dec. 16, 2016 — almost one year after Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theaters on Dec. 18, 2015. Plus, Gareth Edwards will reportedly direct, while Chris Weitz will rework Gary Whitta‘s original screenplay.
What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Is Felicity Jones the right woman to star in the first Star Wars stand-alone movie? Tell us how you feel!
