Brian Williams is rapping again! Well, kinda. In this incredible ‘Tonight Show’ video, the ‘NBC Nightly News’ Anchor takes on one of Snoop Dogg’s biggest hits. So, how does he fare?
Brian Williams is no stranger to getting funky on The Tonight Show, but who knew he had so much in common with Snoop Dogg? Okay, that might be an exaggeration, but as of today, they’ve both skillfully rapped to Snoop’s classic “Who Am I?” also known as “What’s My Name?” Brian certainly brings something…new to his rendition, and it’s basically just a must watch.
Brian Williams Raps ‘What’s My Name’ On ‘The Tonight Show’
We all know Brian Williams is a man of many talents.
While he frequently assists Jimmy in his efforts to “Slow Jam the News,” Brian’s latest musical segment is a little different. The Tonight Show took the time to meticulously stitch together Brian saying every single word to one of the verses from Snoop’s classic “What’s My Name?” and it’s ridiculous in the best possible way.
As Brian begins to rap “From the depths of the sea, back to the block/Snoop Doggy Dogg funky, yes but of the doc,” it’s honestly hard to say which moment is the best. However, a definite standout is repurposing Brian saying “McCain” to sound like “my cane.”
Brilliant, as always.
Musical Genius Jimmy Fallon
Brian’s is just the latest installment in a very musical few days on The Tonight Show, which is in the midst of a special week long stay in sunny Los Angeles.
In a special Sunday night episode which followed the Super Bowl, Jimmy hosted an epic lip syncing battle which posed Will Ferrell singing “Let It Go” and “Drunk In Love” against Kevin Hart singing John Legend‘s “All of Me.”
That same episode also boasts a chill-inducing acapella singalong to Queen‘s “We Are The Champions,” which featured Ariana Grande, Carrie Underwood, One Direction, Meghan Trainor, Sam Smith, Blake Shelton, Usher, Christina Aguilera as well as the always fabulous The Roots, obviously.
With the week beginning as such, we can only imagine what spectacular music moments the rest of the week has in store.
