‘The Bachelor’ crossed into a different world on Feb. 2 — and it turned a little ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ mixed with some serious heavy emotions.
It was one of the most emotional and entertaining episodes of The Bachelor to date. When Chris Soules brought the ladies to New Mexico (not Mexico, Megan), he saw a whole different side of them — especially Carly, who he chose for the first one-on-one and connected with on an entirely different level.
Chris & Carly Meet The Love Guru
Right off the bat, the girls find out they’re heading “out of the country,” as Megan puts it, to New Mexico. Upon arrival, Carly lands her first one-on-one date — well, more like one-on-two, since they immediately meet with a love guru. That “love guru” turned out to be more of a Fifty Shades of Grey guru, and it all had to do with connecting on a very sensual level.
Naturally, they both got super uncomfortable when it got to the taking-each-others-clothes and Carly actually stopped at the pants (thankfully). However, she did straddle him in a seated position and breathe each other in. Seriously, it was intense.
Following the date, they finally got to talk about Carly’s insecurities — which by the way, were insane since she’s gorgeous. And Chris agreed. “I think Carly would be the best wife you could ever ask for,” he said. Bold statement, man.
The Group Date Gets Overcrowded
During the group date, Chris took the ladies white water rafting and warned them they could die. No one did, luckily, but Jade did fall in and revealed she had a condition where she gets hypothermia at temperatures she shouldn’t — and yes, that landed her a foot massage and a huge. Oh, and if that didn’t set Kelsey off, it was every other time Chris spoke to another woman.
These girls know they’re all dating the same man, right?
However, after the rafting Chris was interrupted by Jordan — the girl who was sent home week two after she got wasted. She wanted a second chance, so after making his group date wait, a while, he came strolling in with her on his arm. He decided he’d let her enjoy the date with the group — needless to say, everyone was pissed. At the end of the date, Chris knew he had to send her home. So, the group date rose went to Whitney!
Oh and after the date, Ashely I. may have shown her true colors saying that earlier when she looked at Whitney, she thought “I don’t have to worry about that.” Ummm.
Clean Up For A 1 On 1
The next one-on-one started at 4:30AM when Chris woke up Britt — while she slept in a room with all the other girls. Naturally, that’s not what they wanted to wake up to, especially for Carly who was shushed by Chris. More importantly, Britt kissed him before brushing. Yuck. I found it hysterical that he said she looked so beautiful waking up, just like she does when she’s all made up. Um, she slept in makeup, Chris — she literally had pink lipstick and mascara on.
They headed on a hot air balloon ride and while she was deathly afraid of heights, it all went away when she looked at Chris. Naturally.
While Britt was on the date, Ashley told the girls that Britt had said she loved being single and wasn’t in a rush for marriage and kids. Meanwhile, she was back at Chris’ room telling him she wanted a hundred kids! Then, they took a much-needed “nap” in his bed.
The Nap That Broke The Camel’s Back
That nap was the last straw for Kelsey — so, she went to Chris’ room to reveal to him that she was a widow. She followed up the emotional story but saying to the camera, “Isn’t my story amazing? It’s tragic, but I love my story.” And that led to her first kiss, and her reminding us all that she knows it’s Chris’ show, but it’s her love story, too.
Then it was off to the cocktail party. Kelsey was beyond confident that she had it in the bag, and Chris came in, but could barely talk to the room. He told them he had a moment with Kelsey, and then he walked out to catch his breath. But he didn’t return; instead, Chris Harrison revealed that Chris decided against the cocktail party — he knew what he wanted to do and they’d skip to the rose ceremony.
Unfortunately, time was up — and the episode ended with Kelsey having a panic attack, laying on the floor, and getting help from a medic. Until next week . . .
