Talk about staying cordial! Russell Brand showed that even though he’s divorced from Katy Perry, he still completely supports her career — he even tweeted her good luck!
Russell Brand has your back, Katy Perry! Right before the 30-year-old singer took the stage at Super Bowl XLIX to perform a collage of her greatest hits, her ex-husband took to Twitter to say “good luck KP.” What a supportive ex!
Russell Brand Supports Katy Perry
“Super Bowl may be baffling to Brits but half time show will be amazing. Good luck KP,” Russell, 39, tweeted on Feb. 1. So nice!
While it was sweet, Katy didn’t really need the luck — she completely rocked out on stage with guests Lenny Kravitz and Missy Elliot! And yes, there were puppets, blow up sharks and beach balls involved.
Regardless if it was needed, it is nice to see they can remain cordial after all their history!
Katy & Russell’s Rocky History
Katy and Russell were married in October 2010, but after only 11 months, they called it off and announced they were divorcing.
In 2013, Katy opened up about her split from Russell, revealing that her song “Ghost” mentioned how he called off the divorce: “you sent a text, it’s like the wind changed your mind.”
“That song is evident of how tough it really was at a certain point. I asked myself, ‘Do I want to endure? Should I continue living?'” Katy told Billboard magazine. “All the songs are real-life moments. I can only write autobiographically. I put all the evidence in the music. I tell my fans if they want to know the real truth about stuff, just listen to the songs.”
Regardless, Katy has just become a better performer than ever and has maintained an on-again off-again romance with John Mayer. She absolutely nailed it during the halftime show — do you agree, HollywoodLifers?
