Fri, January 30, 2015 2:00pm EDT by Add first Comment

Neil Patrick Harris is heading back to the small screen, and it looks like it’ll be legendary! Though the multifaceted performer spent nearly a decade on CBS, the ‘How I Met Your Mother’ star will take NBC by storm this year in a new variety show!

In case you didn’t know, Neil Patrick Harris is both incredibly talented and incredibly busy. As a result of those combined factors, in this first preview of his forthcoming variety show, we get the first 15 seconds of what would surely be a thrilling promo– if only there were more time! Though the show won’t premiere until this coming fall, you can check out the just-released clip right now!

Neil Patrick Harris’ Variety Series: First Promo

It seems that NBC has high hopes for its risky, NPH-hosted variety show, as it will donate precious air time to a promo for the series during the Super Bowl on Feb. 1.

In this (basically microscopic) sneak peek at the new series, host extraordinaire Neil explains to us that “I only have 15 seconds to tell you about my new, really big show,” as he briskly walks toward a chorus line of sparkling dancers. “So I thought instead, why not perform a thrilling number to give you a glimpse of what’s coming?”

He strikes a pose in front of the dancers, the music swells and– “out of time Neil,” we hear from an off-screen producer.

More please, more!

The Host With The Most

Neil hosting a variety series is basically the most incredible and obvious idea that television has had since Tina Fey played Sarah Palin on Saturday Night Live.

For starters, we are mere weeks away from Neil’s first outing as an Academy Awards host, and, if it goes anything like his previous hosting gigs at the Emmys and the Tonys, his efforts will be nothing short of spectacular.

The series will feature games, pranks, sketches and, of course, appearances by top-notch celeb guests.

How do you think Neil will do hosting a variety show?
