Another day, another super hero movie! And this time, Tyrese Gibson is involved. Will he become the next Green Lantern?

If Tyrese Gibson gets his way, he’ll be taking over for Ryan Reynolds as the next Green Lantern! The actor, 36, just launched a campaign on social media to take the part in DC Comics film, Justice League Part One!

‘Green Lantern’ Remake — Could Tyrese Gibson Land The Role?

It began on Jan. 23. The Fast & Furious star took to Instagram to post a very green photo of himself. The caption read, “Rumor has it.”

Well that definitely got people talking. However he didn’t even stop there (not even close!). Tyrese went on for the next five days to post 15 more photos all about the green lantern, with fan art of himself as the character.

Many were of him, with a green tint and others were drawings done by artists of what the green lantern would looks like. For the caption, he wrote:

“Why don’t we have more black superheroes”….: We have a few…. Now we have one more…. #MAYHEM art by legendary comic book artist @JimLeeArt I sat there and watched him draw this #Mayhem cover…. We’re friends to this day….. Potentially doing this #GreenLantern role isn’t an opportunity its more like a “responsibility”…. Prayers and love will get us there……

Could Tyrese Be Green Lantern?

This of course would be a huge role and well deserved! As Tyrese pointed out in many of his posts, John Stewart was the first black superhero, which was played by Hal Jordan.

On multiple photos, Tyrese revealed that he’s “fully committed to suiting up for this adventure,” and continuously quoted the character: “In brightest day, in blackest night, No evil shall escape my sight. Let those who worship evil’s might, Beware my power, Green Lantern’s light!”

Well we’re down for Tyrese! Justice League is scheduled to be released in 2017 and Green Lantern is set for 2020. Would he make a good Green Lantern? Let us know your thoughts!
