Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo showed off his sense of humor in Pizza Hut’s latest Super Bowl ad. Watch the All-American hottie’s extra cheesy cameo here!
Too soon, Tony Romo? In Pizza Hut’s new Super Bowl ad, the 34-year-old quarterback poked fun at a controversial call from a playoff game — a call which many Dallas fans believed cost the Cowboys the game to the Green Bay Packers on Jan. 11. Dallas fans may still be mourning the overturned play, but Tony was a good sport (and super cute) while hinting at it in this ad.
Tony Romo Super Bowl Commercial 2015 — QB Stars In Pizza Hut Ad
Throughout the ad, Buffalo Bills coach Rex Ryan is seen tossing flags left and right for incomplete crust, which seems to be a metaphor for incomplete plays.
After understanding that Pizza Hut offers flavored crusts (like Sriracha and Parmesan) instead of the basic kind, Ryan miraculously appears in Tony’s home as he is watching the game.
There is a subtle nod to that overturned call from the Jan. 11 game when Rex tosses a flag into Tony Romo’s pizza box, prompting the QB to sigh and say, “not again….”
Although we think Tony is dashing, we have to say that the football player should let his ex girlfriend, Jessica Simpson, 34, stick to the Pizza Hut commercials. How could we ever forget a sauntering Ms. Simpson, circa her Daisy Duke days, starring in a 2006 Pizza Hut commercial?
Jessica Simpson’s Magical Wedding
Fortunately, both Tony and Jessica have moved way forward since their short-lived romance.
Jess recently tied the knot with her husband, Eric Johnson, 35, who is a former NFL player, on July 5, 2014. (She obviously has a type.) The gorgeous blonde couple is raising their two children, Ace, 1, and Maxwell, 2, who no surprise here: are gorgeous and blonde.
Although the former couple is respectively preoccupied with their own families, we can’t help but wonder which son will be the future NFL star: Ace or Hawkins? Time will only tell.
