Indiana Jones fans freaked out when news broke that Disney was eyeing Chris to take on the iconic role in their revival of the film franchise. But hold on to your leather fedora because Harrison is not quite ready to let go of his whip just yet!
With his good looks and larger than life personality, Chris Pratt, 34, seems like the perfect choice to fill Harrison Ford’s shoes as Indiana Jones in Disney’s planned revival of the franchise. But sources tell HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that the 72-year-old acting legend wants one more chance to play Indy, leaving us to wonder — could they team up in the next film?
Chris Pratt As Indiana Jones: Harrison Ford Could Also Star In Film
We are torn! While we love Chris and think he would fit into the role of Indiana perfectly, we also have trouble visualizing anyone else but Harrison playing the part he made all his own.
According to our source, Harrison is having trouble seeing that as well!
“Harrison would still like to be Indiana Jones and work with Steven (Spielberg) & George (Lucas) one more time,” an insider tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “He understands that change happens and has nothing against Chris at all.”
Harrison would actually love to work with Chris and hopes the producers would consider a storyline that respects the old and new.
“If they do it and go the direction of Chris, Harrison would like to pass the torch and make the movie with him instead of without him. He would want it to be a thing where he is in the Sean Connery role and Chris would be the son, or Chris would be a flashback to younger Indiana adventures.”
The Force Is With Harrison
Indiana Jones isn’t the only iconic role he is stepping back into in his later years. Harrison thrilled fans when it was reported the legendary actor was working on J.J. Abrams Star Wars: Episode VII. Still we worry about Harrison doing these action roles in his 70’s. As we previously reported, he was taken to a London hospital on June 11 after he hurt his ankle in an accident that took place on the set in London.
What ever the outcome, we are sure it will be a fantastic film!
