Sarah Hyland, 24, is one of our all-time favorite stars to watch on the red carpet. And can you blame us? The actress always looks on point and her appearance at the 2015 Screen Actors Guild Awards at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, Calif. on Jan. 25 was no exception. We loved Sarah’s beauty look but really loved her hair. Luckily, her hairstylist is telling us how he created her look below!
Sarah Hyland At Screen Actors Guild Awards — Edgy Up-Do
Sarah’s hairstylist, Ryan Richman, gave us the lowdown on how he created her up-do: “I wanted to create a sleek and elegant look with an edge. Branching off from the typical bun, I created a unique up-do that really showcased the detailing of her Vera Wang dress.”
Ryan created her look by first “prepping Sarah’s wet hair with KMS California FREESHAPE quick blow dry spray to lightly condition the hair and reduce drying time.” Then he applied “a few pumps of KMS California TAMEFRIZZ smoothing lotion to Sarah’s hair to smooth the cuticle and reduce frizz while drying.” Next he used “a comb to distribute the product throughout the hair and set a deep side part.”
Then he “blow dried 1″ sections using a flat boar bristle brush while pointing the nozzle of the blow dryer downward towards the ends of the hair.” He then smoothed her hair with a flat iron.
Ryan then “used a brush to create a high ponytail and secured this section with an elastic. Then, he sprizted “KMS California FREESHAPE 2-in-1 styling + finishing spray onto Sarah’s hair.” Finally, Ryan “repeated these steps with the remaining hair and secured it in a low ponytail.”
Next, Ryan “wove and twisted the two ponytails together and began to pin the look down to the back of Sarah’s head using bobby pins.” Finally, he “finished this look with KMS California FREESHAPE 2-in-1 styling + finishing spray.”
Sarah Hyland’s Stunning Mani
Celebrity Manicurist Christina Aviles used essie gel in dizzy feet on Sarah’s nails. She told us: “We used essie gel in dizzy feet, a creamy light pink color, and applied three rhinestones on her left ring finger to accent the shimmering details of her dress.”
