Lance Armstrong gave a brutally honest interview with BBC Sport while promoting his documentary ‘Lance Armstrong: The Road Ahead’, where he shockingly admitted he would ‘probably’ use performance-enhancing drugs again if he were to go back in time.

Lance Armstrong, 43, gave us a preview of his documentary Lance Armstrong: The Road Ahead where he was upfront and honest about his use with performance-enhancing drugs, which stripped him of seven Tour de France titles — but he reveals he wouldn’t change the past.

Lance Armstrong’s BBC Sport Interview: Admits He’d ‘Probably’ Dope Again

In the interview with BBC Sport on Jan. 26, Lance reveals that “the fallout has been heavy” since he confessed to doping.

“…Maybe even heavier than I thought,” Lance says. “It was pretty brutal afterwards. It’s been tough, it’s been trying, it’s required some patience, but it seems like there’s some light at the end of the tunnel.”

When asked if he would use drugs again if he were to compete, Lance gave a very unexpected answer.

“If I was racing in 2015? No I wouldn’t do it again. ‘Cause I don’t think you have to do it again,” Lance says. “If you take me back to 1995, when it was completely and totally pervasive, I’d probably do it again. People won’t like to hear that. That’s the honest answer.”

Lance then says that his answer needs explanation, and went on to say that “it was a bad decision at an imperfect time.”

However, the road hasn’t been easy for Lance, and he wishes he could change “the man who did those things.” Before admitting the truth to Oprah Winfrey in 2013, Lance kept the secret for fifteen years.

“For 15 years I was a complete a**hole to a dozen people… That’s the man that really needed to change and never come back,” Lance continues. “If I go back to 1995, I think we’re all sorry. You know what we are sorry for? We’re sorry we were put in that place. None of us wanted to be in that place. We all would have loved to compete man on man .. naturally, clean. Yeah, we’re sorry. We all looked around as desperate kids.”
