The 2015 SAG Awards honored Hollywood’s fallen in a beautiful, touching montage that included Robin Williams, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and more. So sad.
Robin Williams and Philip Seymour Hoffman left Hollywood behind in 2014, but they have definitely not been forgotten by their peers or fans. During the 2015 SAG Awards, both actors, as well as many other celebrities who passed away last year, were honored during their In Memoriam.
Robin Williams & More — SAG Awards Memoriam
Included in the memoriam segment were, of course, Robin and Philip, as well as many other fallen stars from 2014.
Sadly, many big names passed, and the SAG Awards honored many of them in a montage tribute that highlighted many of their biggest and most well-known roles.
For instance, a clip of a young curly-haired Shirley Temple singing “Good Ship Lollipop” showed in her honor, while a clip of Robin yelling “good morning Vietnam” into a radio mic was shown for him.
Other names, such as Misty Upham, Elaine Stritch, Casey Kasem, Phyllis Frelich, Eli Wallach, and many others also passed in 2014.
A tremendous amount of talent may have been lost, but they were surely remembered at the SAG Awards on Sunday, Jan. 25.
Billy Crystal Honored Robin At The Emmy’s
In Aug. 2014, Robin was remembered by his longtime friend and often business partner, Billy Crystal.
The comedian took the stage to reflect not only on his friendship, but on how Robin truly shined as a star in so many peoples lives.
“It’s very hard to talk about him in the past because he was so present in all of our lives for almost 40 years,” Billy said. “He was the brightest star in the comedy galaxy.”
Our thoughts are with the families all of Hollywood’s dearly departed.
