Julianne Moore cannot be stopped! For her work in ‘Still Alice,’ the redheaded beauty took home yet another accolade on Jan. 25, this one for lead actress in a movie at the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
If the last few weeks are any indication, I wouldn’t want to be Julianne Moore‘s competition in this year’s awards season. Coming off wins at both the Golden Globes and the Critics Choice Awards, Julianne continued her streak of dominance at the 21st annual Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Julianne Moore Wins A SAG Award For ‘Still Alice’
In this year’s Still Alice, Julianne had to explore places she never had before, playing a renowned linguistics professor in her 50s who is diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimers, struggling to hang onto her sense of self for as long as she can.
The challenging work seems to be paying off though, as Julianne’s performance continues to be recognized. Because the SAGs celebrate actors, in her speech, Julianne was sure to acknowledge some of what makes her love acting. “What was most exciting for me was being with another actor… I want to thank my partners in this movie.”
Julianne’s win was definitely deserved, but that isn’t to say there weren’t other worthy ladies in her category. Competing against her was Jennifer Aniston for Cake, Felicity Jones for The Theory of Everything, Rosamund Pike for Gone Girl and Reese Witherspoon for Wild.
Were you guys happy to see Julianne win tonight? What do you think it says about her Oscar chances? Tell us!
