The New England Patriots have repeatedly denied deflating game balls in the AFC Championship, but Bill Nye The Science Guy begs to differ, saying their explanation ‘doesn’t make sense.’
As people continue to be outraged by the Deflate-Gate scandal, which caused the New England Patriots to advance to The Super Bowl, Bill Nye “The Science Guy”, is debunking Patriots head coach Bill Belichick‘s explanation for the deflated balls. Here’s what Bill had to say about the scandal on Jan. 25’s Good Morning America.
Bill Nye The Science Guy On Deflate-Gate: Slams Patriots & Bill Belichick
The Patriots coach said in a press conference amid the investigation that the footballs had “adjusted to the climatic conditions” and the “footballs reached an equilibrium without the rubbing process,” according to NBC Sports.
However, Bill called out the less scientific Bill, saying that the climate and rubbing process wouldn’t change the pressure inside of the football.
“I’m not too worried about coach Belichick competing with me. What he said didn’t make any sense,” Bill Nye says. “Rubbing the football I don’t think you can change the pressure. To really change the pressure you need one of these, the inflation needle.”
While of course we believe the ultimate science expert, Bill also couldn’t help but throw in that he was rooting for the Seattle Seahawks!
Will the New England Patriots Be Disqualified From The Super Bowl?
