It’s finally here! After hearing about Tina Fey’s highly anticipated TV followup over a year ago, we now have our first extended trailer for ‘Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’– and not at all surprisingly– it looks incredible.

Sure, it sounds like a tough sell–a young woman escapes from a doomsday cult after 15 years and attempts to establish normalcy–but if anyone can make cults funny, it’s Tina Fey and Ellie KemperWe still have to wait until Mar. 6 for the episodes to drop (all at once– thanks, Netflix!) but until then, check out the hilarious trailer right now!

‘Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’ Trailer: Ellie Kemper Escapes Underground Cult

TV has felt a little empty (and a lot less funny) since Tina’s show 30 Rock completed its run in 2013. Thankfully, that void may soon be filled by the new comedy Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.

The project was announced over a year ago, and now, Netflix has finally released an extended sneak peak at the series and it looks amazing– albeit, a little bizarre. The show follows Kimmy (Ellie), immediately after her escape from a doomsday cult, in which she was held captive underground for 15 years. So, where does Kimmy go to reestablish her life? Where many lost souls tend to rediscover themselves: New York City, of course.

Kimmy boasts some very familiar names, especially to fans of beloved 30 Rock. Not only is the show from Tina (who does not act in the new show) and Robert Carlock (with whom Tina executive produced 30), but it also stars the fab Jane Krakowski, who played high maintenance Jenna Maroney for all seven seasons of the comedy.

Kimmy’s Long Road To Netflix

Although the series will debut on Netflix, it actually was originally intended to air traditionally on NBC (the net on which 30 Rock also aired), and all episodes were shot within network guidelines. However, it was announced in November that the show would be moving from the Peacock to Netflix and additionally had been picked up for a second season, which will also air on the streaming site.

We cannot wait to binge-watch Kimmy!

Are you excited for the new show?
