The two-time Olympic gold medalist, and the goal keeper for the US women’s national soccer team has just been suspended for a minimum of 30 days after her husband, Jerramy Stevens was arrested for a DUI.
Hope Solo, 33, has just been suspended by U.S. Soccer for reportedly “acting belligerent” when her husband, Jerramy Stevens was arrest in Manhattan Beach, Calif., and she even recorded the officers on her cell phone. Her coach, Jill Ellis, released an intense statement following the decision and now Hope is speaking out.

Hope will miss the next two games, one in France, Feb. 8 and one in England, Feb. 13
“During our current national team camp, Hope made a poor decision that has resulted in a negative impact on U.S. Soccer and her teammates,” U.S. coach Jill Ellis said. “We feel at this time it is best for her to step away from the team.”
Shortly after this news, Hope took to her Facebook and released her own statement:
“I accept and respect the federation’s decision, and more importantly, I apologize for disappointing my teammates, coaches and the federation who have always supported me. I think it’s best for me to take a break, decompress from the stress of the last several months, and come back mentally and physically ready to positively contribute to the team.”
But what makes this even worse, this incident comes just one week after domestic abuse charges against her were dismissed. She was facing two counts of fourth-degree assault for allegedly beating up her sister and nephew but neither was cooperate and give interviews, so the charges were subsequently dropped.
She could potentially be back to play against Australia, June 8 in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
