This is absolutely amazing. In honor of what would have been Aaliyah’s 36th birthday on Jan. 16, Frank Ocean took to covering the Princess of R&B’s classic cover of the Isley Brothers’ ‘At Your Best (You Are Love)’. Click to listen to the touching tribute.

Frank Ocean gave a sweet and soulful tribute to Aaliyah who tragically passed away in 2001 at age 22. The talented 27-year-old R&B artist shared a stripped down rendition of the Isley Brothers 1976 track, “At Your Best (You are Love)”, which Aaliyah famously covered in 1994. Listen here!

Frank Ocean’s ‘At Your Best’ Cover — Sings Aaliyah Tribute

Frank posted the song on his Tumblr page on Jan. 17 titling his version, “You Are Luhh.” The stripped down song is both emotional and heartfelt, while Frank’s vocal range and falsetto shine through in the amazing cover.

Frank has been taking to his Tumblr to drop new music, including his most recent single “Memrise,” a two minute track showing off a mellow, atmospheric sound.

Aaliyah’s version of “At Your Best” has certainly not been forgotten. Not only did Frank cover the song to honor her on her birthday, but Drake also sampled the song on his track “Unforgettable.”

Aaliyah’s time was sadly too short, but in the time she did have, the “Try Again” singer happened to have one of the biggest influences on R&B, before she passed away in a plane crash. At the time of the accident, the Grammy-nominated singer was engaged to co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records, Damon Dash.

The singer’s life story was portrayed in Lifetime’s biopic Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B with Aaliyah being portrayed by actress Alexandra Shipp, 23.
