Dax Shepard Describes Wife Kristen Bell’s C-Section
Childbirth is no walk in the park — and it took quite the toll on Dax.
He may not have been the one doing the physical work, but he has revealed that his wife, Kristen’s, 33 hour labor was very tough on him, too.
“This was Fallujah… this was intense,” Dax revealed to Ellen DeGeneres. He continued to joke that, “She got an epidural… I think dads should too. I deserved something. I was along for the ride! It’s still a car crash and I’m in the passenger seat.”
We don’t know if a car crash was the right analogy, but the funny-man continued to reveal his need for medication.
“I’m playing Katy Perry, and I’m breathing and rubbing her back, and I have fatigue… and I think, ‘I need something for this — help me.'”

During his interview, Dax also told Ellen there should be a warning about how horrifying it is to see your wife have a c-section.
“What they did not warn me about was the c-section, which is way worse,” he explained. “You peek around the sheet and they’re lifting out the baby, but then you notice your wife is completely disassembled… I can see inside of her!”
Well, as you can imagine that came as a shocker to Dax. He couldn’t grasp the fact that Kristen’s “intestines” were out on display.
“I was like, ‘It’s a girl! Your liver’s out… I think. And those are definitely your intestines… And she has your eyes! Oh my God, put her back together correctly.'”
