Rosie Perez Not Leaving ‘The View’ — Rosie O’Donnell Speaks Out
“No matter what you read anywhere, Rosie Perez is also coming back, after she is done rehearsing her play,” Rosie O’Donnell said on the Jan. 15 episode.
“Her play, the new Larry David play that she’s starring in, opens soon and then she will be back here at her job, regardless of what you hear on other shows or read in other magazines, as I did last night at 11:40 and went [mimicked typing and said ‘What the f–k?!’].”
It was reported that Rosie never got the hang of reading from a teleprompter and couldn’t handle juggling between hard and soft news, according to our sister site Variety. Younger co-hosts were reportedly being tested.
A rep for The View released a statement to our other sister site TVLine. “Rosie Perez is currently in rehearsal for her Broadway play for the month of January,” the statement read. “Her status with the show has not changed.”
Naya Rivera has made one heck of statement during her week-long co-hosting gig on The View.
On the Jan. 13 episode, she said that showering daily was such a “white people thing.” She has since apologized for her racist comment, but she wasn’t done making jaws drop.
