The man of the hour! Michael Keaton just walked away with the distinguished honor of Best Actor at the 2015 Critics’ Choice Awards. And considering his competition, he should feel very accomplished.
He’s the man — The Birdman that is. Michael Keaton was awarded the Critics’ Choice Award for Best Actor on Jan. 15. The flick led the nominations for the evening, but for Michael, we’re sure this was the one award that truly mattered!
Michael Keaton Wins Best Actor At The 2015 Critics’ Choice Awards
Another big win for Michael! Following his Golden Globes win last week and his Oscar nomination this morning, Michael is walking away with another accolade, his second of the night. Not too shabby!
Whether you know him as Beetlejuice or as Batman, you can agree that the recent recognition of Michael’s work is long overdue. His work in Birdman has been the talk of the town even before the movie hit theaters, which is probably why the critics deemed him worthy of this honor.
While accepting his award, Michael thanked his loved ones and all the incredible people who worked on the powerful film with him. This is, of course, the first time he’s faced off against strong contender Eddie Redmayne. Will he be able to take him again in February when they face off at the Academy Awards? We soon shall see! But for now, we’ll just let him enjoy his moment!
But it’s a big night for a lot of incredible talent. So many of Hollywood’s finest walked away with top honors.
It was a great night for all. Jessica Chastain won the very first MVP award, and gave a beautiful speech about promoting diversity in film (and she got the nod of approval from Oprah.) Emily Blunt got a big kiss on stage from her hubby John Krasinski after her big win. And Julianne Moore snag yet another award for Best Actress!
What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Did TK deserve to win?
