Kevin Costner, 59, has stared in dozens of films over the span of his incredible career. To honor him, the Broadcast Film Critics Association awarded him with the Lifetime Achievement Award — find out what he said during his heartfelt speech!
Nightcrawler star, Rene Russo, presented Kevin with the honor. She unfortunately came down with a case of laryngitis before the show, so to help her out, famous auctioneer Dan Dotson jumped on stage.
He named all 50 of Kevin’s films under one minute! Then they rolled a clip highlighting Kevin’s magnificent career.
“However my name found its way, stumbled on the list of actors of a certain age, that happened to be in town,” Kevin joked as he started his acceptance speech. “I am humbled and honored by your selection.”
“I would like to thank the directors who took the chance on me….to all the drivers who drove me early and late and kept me safe…to the people who prepared the food for us…thank you. To my assistants..to the crews who worked impossible hours…and of course to my fellow actors to always manage to fight their way to this mythical place called Hollywood, nobody has it better than us right? So try to act grateful,” Kevin said.
“This can only end where it started so I want to say a simple thank you to my parents and my beautiful wife and partner,” he concluded.
