Manny Pacquiao & Floyd Mayweather Jr. Fight — Reportedly Almost A Done Deal
Talk about a dream fight! The pair have been in negotiations several times before, but this time Manny has agreed to the deal, according to Yahoo Sports.
Promoter, Bob Arum told the site that Floyd’s representatives have agreed to the deal, but Floyd has yet to do so. “I want to get some movement here, with bringing Mayweather to the table so we can go out and get everything signed and get the networks together and get the thing finished,” he said.
The site also claims that multiple source said that the fight would take place on May. 2, and that an agreement with MGM was “imminent” along with a 60/40 split in favor of Floyd — which means he could make $120 million.
The site reports that a fight between the boxing powerhouses almost happened back in 2009, but that Manny backed out after Floyd demanded a last-minute drug test.
When asked if Bob was trying to force Floyd’s hand he said. “I’m not trying to force anybody’s hand, I’m just saying, ‘Hey, we’ve agreed to everything, period,’ ” he told the site. “The people we have talked to on Mayweather’s side have agreed to everything. Now we need Mayweather to step up and say, ‘Yeah, I’m on board. I agree.’
“The point is that I don’t want what happened the other times to happen again,” Bob said. “I want this fight to actually happen. I want everybody to make a lot of money on the fight. I want the public to be satisfied. And I think it will be a terrific event. That’s what I want, and I’ve done everything in my power to make that happen.”
We agree with Bob, we want this fight to happen and feel like now is the right time for both boxers to battle is out!
