Could Elsa really give up the Freak Show to Chester? Well, the deal is done . . . but that doesn’t mean anything on ‘American Horror Story.’
You Tried To Kill My Dreams
The episode begins with a farewell dinner, for Elsa to officially sign over the Freak Show to Chester (Neil Patrick Harris) and head to Hollywood with her manager.
However, her “manager” has been exposed — and to show him he knows the truth, they bring him the head of Lillian (Celia Weston), who runs the Museum of Morbid Curiosities
“You tried to kill my dreams, but they can not be murdered.” Well put, Elsa! Luckily, after she put him on the wheel and tortured him a bit, she let him run, and be chased by the freaks and scared to death.
She Had It Comin’
Meanwhile, the twins continued to sleep with Chester, but asked him to put Marjorie (Jamie Brewer) away — and he threw her on the floor. Of course, she flipped out and convinced him that they were using him. She also reminded him that he was a murderer, and that the twins have to go.
Meanwhile, Dandy (Finn Wittrock) storms in on “strictly friendship” visit to let the girls know that he’s done a background check and found that their “new beau is a sicko.” (Kettle, black.)
During rehearsal, Chester told the girls he wanted them to get in the box, but they left, telling him they didn’t want to be his assistants anymore. So, Maggie (Emma Roberts) stepped in; but Chester only saw her as his ex-wife and his mistress, and he hears Marjorie telling him to saw. So, he sawed Maggie in half. NBD.
When realizing what he did, he takes it out on Marjorie, and takes her life, too. He even turns himself in for murdering her. Of course, the police only see her as a dummy so aren’t sure why he’s confessing to murder and is covered in blood.
Meanwhile, would the freaks fall back under Elsa’s lead? Not so much. Before Stanley ran away, he told everyone that Elsa was the one who killed Ethel — and the whole group of “monsters” plotted against her. Luckily, the twins warned her, and told her she must get out before they killed her. Later that evening, when they enter her room to kill her, she’s gone.
So, where will she go? Well, she’ll call the last person you could think of: Dandy, who gets in her car, and gives her a bundle of cash. So, what was that cash for? The Freak Show. And what does he find upon arrival? Stanley, with no legs and no hands.
Jimmy Gets His Hands Back
As for Jimmy (Evan Peters), he was finally getting hands — Elsa invited an old friend, Massimo (Danny Huston), to create new hands for him. Massimo told his story — he saved Elsa and created her new legs, before hunting down the men who cut them off. The men shot and tortured him, but he finally got away.
So now, Jimmy would have the chance to be normal, but remembering his childhood as “lobster boy,” he’s not sure that’s what he wants. So, Massimo creates the perfect, wooden, lobster hands for him. It seems he could be the only one with a happy ending. That is, until next week.
