Uh oh. The Weeknd was arrested in Las Vegas after getting into a fight and being accused of punching a police officer in the face.
The Weeknd, 24, has been accused of punching a Las Vegas police officer in the face while they were trying to break up a fight the singer was involved in. The cause of the fight, as well as the other people involved, remain unknown.
The Weeknd Arrested For Punching Police Officer
What happens in Vegas does not always stay in Vegas, especially if there is a police record involved.
On Saturday night, Jan. 20, around 4:20am, The Weeknd was arrested for allegedly punching a cop in an elevator, reports TMZ.
A source told the outlet that The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, was involved in a fight at the Cromwell when police arrived to break it up.
One officer pulled him into an elevator, which is when he allegedly swung at and hit him in the face. Yikes.
The Weeknd was in town for his own performance, which went off without a hitch that night.
The Weeknd ‘Escapes’ Las Vegas After Arrest
Later, the singer was bailed out, and shared a new Instagram photo of himself finally getting out of town.
“Escaped from Las Vegas,” The Weeknd captioned a photo of himself walking towards a private plane on a dark tarmac.
Earlier that day he also posted a caption-less selfie, which shows he has no visible marks or bruises from his fight.
There is no word on where or not charges have been pressed, or if any court dates have been scheduled.
