Say what?! On Jan. 13, beloved series ‘Parks & Recreation’ will air the premiere episode of its seventh and final season and fans are obviously bummed to soon say goodbye to all our friends in Pawnee. The news may not be all bad though, because we might be getting a peek at Chris Pratt shirtless!
While it’s definitely heartbreaking that Parks & Recreation is almost over, there could be some good news here, too. Ahead of the show’s return to NBC, one of the series’ creators revealed the premiere episode’s plans for a shirtless Chris Pratt. Talk about a silver lining!
‘Parks & Recreation’ Premiere: Will Chris Pratt Be Shirtless?
When Parks & Rec began on NBC in 2009, Chris Pratt was not the movie star he is today. In fact, he was barely a star at all. However, thanks to his starring role in Guardians of the Galaxy, Chris is one of today’s biggest movie stars– and he’s got the buff bod to prove it!
So, are the show’s producers exploiting Chris’s physique on the Jan. 13 season premiere? Although a scene featuring Chris stripping down was originally planned, producers scrapped it because his body was actually too perfect for his character, Andy!
In an interview with Rolling Stone, series creator Mike Schur said there was “a scene that we wrote for the premiere where it called for [Chris] to take his shirt off,” Mike said. “We realized we couldn’t do it… Andy is not a guy who has a perfectly constructed human form with ripped abs and gigantic biceps.”
That might be true, but couldn’t you guys make an exception just this once?
Ending On A High Note
Fans of Parks can take comfort in the fact that the final season will be seriously awesome. According to Mike, not only is the finale going to satisfy the audience, it “is one of the best episodes [the show] has ever done.”
If the show has to go, at least it’s going to go out on a high note.
Are you guys excited for the final season?
