Love was in the air at the Golden Globes, where George sweetly thanked wife Amal during his heartfelt Cecil B. DeMille Award acceptance speech. But now, thanks to Ellen, laughter is in the air! Watch this hilarious video of her making fun of George’s mushy moment!
We all swooned when George Clooney gushed about how “proud” he was to be Mr. Amal Alamuddin during his 2015 Golden Globes speech on Jan. 11. But apparently George’s romantic monologue didn’t go at all the way Ellen DeGeneres thought it would! Here’s why.
Ellen Disses George Clooney’s Golden Globes Speech About Amal Alamuddin
George, 53, totally stole Ellen’s heart at the 2015 Golden Globes! “There were a lot of good speeches,” the 56-year-old talk show host said during her Jan. 13 show. “But his was amazing. It just did not end the way that I thought it would.”
Cut to this hysterical video, in which Ellen, dressed in a purple frock and draped in diamonds, has been edited into George’s empty seat at the Globes.
As George raves about his new wife, Amal, 36, with sweet words like, “It’s a humbling thing when you find somebody to love,” it becomes clear that a flattered and touched Ellen thinks he’s talking about her!
When George says, “Amal, I couldn’t be more proud to be your husband,” Ellen spits out her drink in shock and yells, “Amal??”
As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, George and Amal stunned at their first awards show appearance since their September 2014 wedding. Despite how Ellen feels, we loved hearing George open up about his love for Amal.
