The Bucks squashed the Ducks in the CFP Championship, 42-20. The Ohio State Buckeyes took the big victory in college football on Jan. 12, winning their eighth National Championship.

What a game! The Ohio State Buckeyes beat the Oregon Ducks, 42-20, for the National Championship title at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, TX on Jan. 12. It was a whirlwind of a game with plenty of great plays and turnovers, but ultimately, the Buckeyes won the number one spot in college football.

Ohio State led throughout the game, though Oregon did their best to play catch up. Alas, the Buckeyes overcame four turnovers thanks to star running back Ezekiel Elliot, who ran an impressive 246 yards during the game.

The Buckeyes saw a masterful performance from third string quarterback Cardale Jones as well. When the game was 21-20 with the Buckeyes winning by 1, Ezekiel scored a 75-yard touchdown to push their lead to eight, which pretty much secured their victory.

Heisman Trophy winner, Marcus Mariota didn’t disappoint the Ducks, despite their loss. He was on top of his game but didn’t have the offense support, especially in the beginning, which cost the team points.

This is Ohio State coach Urban Meyer‘s third national title, making him one of the most respected coaches in college football. The Buckeyes’ win marks their eighth National Championship title, their first since 2002.
