Amy Poehler At Golden Globe Awards — Stunning Glow: Get Her Makeup
Who do we have to thank for making Amy look absolutely gorgeous? None other than Brett Freedman, Amy’s trusted makeup artist. We are loving the irresistible glow he gave her for the night, highlighting her best features! Her simplistic makeup definitely looked classic, helping her stand out even more while wearing her vibrant Stella McCartney gown!
Brett says, “Touches of light and shimmer were added to Amy’s features to make them pop and amp up her sexy look.”
For the face, Brett decided to “prep skin with Farmhouse Fresh’s Wine Down Overnight Super Antioxidant Recovery Serum for a clean, fresh base.” Then, he applied a “matte foundation around the eyes and above the brows using a stippling brush.” He then used a “darker shade matte foundation to work into the face and neck.” To highlight the under-eyes and lids, Brett mixed “a medium and light concealer to highlight,” and used a “fuller coverage concealer to cover imperfections and brighten the face.” What a great tip to achieve a healthy glow!
For her bronzed cheeks, Brett applied “a peach powder blush from the apples of the cheek up to the temple and applied Michael Kors Glam Bronze Powder along the top of the cheekbone. He completed the face by burnishing the blush and bronzer with a L.A.B.2 Buffing Brush.”
For her natural eye look, Brett “filled in the naturally sparse brow hairs with the lighter shade from Brett Brow’s Duo-Shade Powder and shaped the tail of the brow with the deeper shade, using an angled brow bush. Tip: Use a spoolie brush to comb up and out towards the end of the eyebrow to disperse product.”
Now, for the lids, he went with a “light matte shadow and created definition by adding caramel and deep brown shadows to the crease. He finished by highlighting the brow bone with a sandy beige shadow and for an added pop to the eyes, he applied a champagne hue, like Kevyn Aucoin Candlelight Powder Shadow, to the inner corner.”
He completed the final touches on the eyes by using “a thin brown pencil liner to draw a thin line starting at the inner rim, along the lash line,” and then finished off using “four coats of mascara to the top and bottom lashes.”
Keeping it simple with the lips, Brett used “a satin balm like Dr. KISS Lip Balm from Brett Freedman Beauty and applied a fresh colored lipstick to the lips, for added shine, swept a flesh colored lip-gloss across the lips.”
Amy Poehler’s Exact Hair At Golden Globes
Celebrity hairstylist Alex Pollilo styled Amy’s hair up in a bun to show off the high neckline of her Stella McCartney dress.
Here’s the how-to:
“Alex first applied L’Oréal Paris Advanced Hairstyle Boost It Volume Inject Mousse ($4.99) on the roots of damp, washed hair and then used a wide-tooth comb through to the ends.
Then he dried hair with a blow dryer and medium round brush. Then he set with Velcro rollers.
He added a pea-sized amount of L’Oréal Paris Advanced Hairstyle Sleek It Frizz Vanisher Cream ($4.99) to the hair and then gathered the hair at the nape of the neck. He secured with a ponytail holder, and then twisted the ponytail into a soft bun, leaving out some pieces in the front.
For some added texture, volume and shape, he sprayed L’Oréal Paris Advanced Hairstyle Blow Dry It Longwear Spray ($4.99).
To finish, he used L’Oréal Paris Elnett Hairspray ($14.99).”
