No, we didn’t mispronounce that — John Travolta just landed his first TV role since Welcome Back Kotter, in the upcoming O.J. Simpson series American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson, our sister site, Variety has confirmed.

John Travolta has been confirmed to star as attorney, Robert Shapiro in American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson, the new FX series from creator Ryan Murphy. The show will depict the infamous trial of O.J. Simpson, who will be played by Cuba Gooding Jr. Also starring will be David Schwimmer playing Robert Kardashian, and Sarah Paulson who will play Marcia Clark.
The story will be loosely based on The Run of His Life: The People V. O.J. Simpson, a book byJeffrey Toobin, told by the lawyers’ perspective.
John Travolta will also be a producer on the miniseries, along with Ryan, Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson, Alexander, Karaszewski, Brad Falchuk and Dante Di Loreto.
