It’s no surprise that the winter premiere of ‘American Horror Story’ was one of the most intense ever — and with the introduction of Neil Patrick Harris’ character and his dummy, things got even darker, fast.
Meet Chester (Neil Patrick Harris), an war veteran who has a knack for magic and a dummy who stays at his side at all time — even when he gets intimate. Yes, seriously. However, like magic, he’s not at all what he seems.
Jimmy Loses His Hands & Much More
Picking up from the a few weeks ago, Jimmy, has sold both of his hands to Stanley (Denis O’Hare) for money for a lawyer — and had to go directly to the hospital since they were chopped off. While in there, he decided that he wanted to ultimately buy the Freak Show from Elsa. Even his dad (Mike Chiklis) agreed he’d buy it with him. One thing it did do for Jimmy, was bring his father closer to him.
“I’m 50 years old and I’m feeding my son for the first time,” Dell said while actually spoon-feeding him. It was then that Dell realized he needed to get his son out — and Amazon Eve (Erika Ervin) decided to help. She jumped in front of the police car when they were bringing Jimmy back to jail and threw a rock through their window. When they crashed, Dell killed the cops and rescued Jimmy.
However, unfortunately, that is not going to bring Jimmy and Dell closer. After Maggie (Emma Roberts) showed Desiree (Angela Bassett) her secret, she came after Dell and made him admit that he killed Ma Petite — and the moment he did, Elsa (Jessica Lange) shot him.
Chester Is ‘Taken’ By The Twins
On a what-seems-to-be a happier note, Chester appears to visit the freak show — along with his dummy. He seemed too happy and excited, but for the sexualized twins (Sarah Paulson), craving for a partner, he was exactly what they wanted. His main act was Marjorie, a dummy voiced by none other than Jamie Brewer (yes, from season one and three of AHS).
For Chester’s act, he does the classic saw-a-girl-in-half trick, and chooses the twins to be his assistant — because they’re beautiful and they remind him of home. That “home” memory shows us that he once watched his wife with another woman . . . while he sat in the corner and smoked, with his dummy on his lap. When they asked him to join, he didn’t.
After appointing the twins as his assistants, they come to him and tell him they want him to “deflower” them — but needs his dummy by his side to be relaxed.
Dandy Joins In
After he sleeps with them both, in one of the most insane sex scenes I’ve ever seen, he locks Marjorie in her box, but she flips out, angered by his want to stay at the Freak Show. Yes, she speaks to him somehow. However, he closes her in the box, and gets called to Elsa’s room where he officially buys the Freak Show.
Upon returning, he sees Marjorie is gone — and in comes Dandy (Finn Wittrock). Dandy’s been told that Chester murdered his wife and new girlfriend; but in Chester’s memory, he came home and found Marjorie murdering them. Dandy informs Chester that Marjorie is waiting for him in the tent — so off he goes. Upon his arrival, she says it’s his turn to “do the dirty work” — she wants him to saw the twins in half.
What did you think of the episode, HollywoodLifers? Do you think Chester will kill the twins? How will the freaks react to Dell’s death and the news of Ma Petite? Let me know your thoughts!
